What are the Re-Value Rounds?
The Re-Value Rounds are part of the Capacity Development and Exchange Programme, supporting learning and knowledge exchange across the Re-Value partnership. Alongside the Innovation Cycles, the Rounds create dedicated moments for cities, partners, and experts to reflect, exchange experiences, and explore topics that are essential for climate-neutral urban transformation. Each Round brings together expert input, city perspectives, and open discussion, helping participants connect strategic thinking with the practical work carried out in the Innovation Cycles.
In project year 1, the Re-Value Rounds focused on building a shared understanding across the partnership. Sessions addressed cross-cutting themes such as story-building, landscape transformation, digital twins, financing ambition, the New European Bauhaus, co-creation, and inclusiveness and diversity. In year 2, the Rounds increasingly highlighted the experiences of the Re-Value cities themselves, creating space to share progress, challenges, and lessons learned from their waterfront pilots.
In years 3 and 4, the Capacity Development and Exchange Programme is expanded through Expert Exchanges and Urban Transformation Webinars. Expert Exchanges invite specialists from beyond the Re-Value community of practice to share novel approaches and solutions to challenges faced by Re-Value cities, broadening perspectives and learning from experiences across Europe (see exemplary recap here). Urban Transformation Webinars are hosted by the Re-Value cities within their national contexts, engaging like-minded peer cities from the same country. These sessions strengthen collaboration and networking at national level, complementing local and European exchange.
