Ålesund is giving new life to the Pink building

Ålesund’s distinctive Pink building, located in the Re-Value pilot area, is entering a new phase. The latest Innovation Camp brought local actors together to rethink the future of this long-neglected structure and sketch out concepts for its potential transformation.
Ahead of the camp, the building underwent an extensive clean-out this autumn. Years of abandoned items and waste left by former tenants were removed, revealing the original space and opening the door to new possibilities.
These combined efforts have sparked growing interest from local stakeholders in reusing and refurbishing the building, signalling momentum for giving it new purpose in the city’s evolving waterfront.
