Hrönn Hrafnsdóttir presents how the City of Reykjavík is advancing mission-oriented governance to support its climate neutrality ambitions. She shares insights from leading the city’s Climate Change Unit and coordinating Reykjavík’s participation in the EU Cities Mission, highlighting how governance structures can enable effective climate action across departments.

Hrafnsdóttir's presentation explores how Reykjavík is implementing its Climate City Contract through strong internal coordination and external partnerships. She also reflects on the role of leadership, institutional alignment, and knowledge-sharing in driving long-term sustainability transitions.

Part of the fourth Re-Value Expert Exchange on "Mission-Oriented Governance," this session explores how innovative governance models and cross-sector collaboration can strengthen cities’ capacity to drive systemic change and deliver on climate neutrality commitments. The Re-Value Expert Exchanges are online learning events organised by ICLEI Europe to inspire and build capacity as part of the EU-funded Re-Value project.
