Climate Neutral Blue Cities by 2030: Accelerating Local Change

The international conference “Climate Neutral Blue Cities by 2030: Accelerating Local Change under the EU Cities and Ocean Missions” brings together city leaders, policymakers, researchers and industry representatives in Limassol, Cyprus on 19-20 March 2026 to explore how port and coastal cities can accelerate their transition to climate neutrality. Organised by the Municipality of Limassol within the framework of the EU Mission for 100 Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities and supported by the Mission Restore our Ocean and Waters, the event focuses on topics such as port–city decarbonisation, coastal resilience, sustainable mobility, energy systems and inclusive urban development.
The Re-Value project will contribute to two panel discussions:
1) Port and Coastal Cities at the Frontline of Climate Action and Maritime Restoration
When: Thursday 19 March 2026, 15:00 - 16:00
Re-Value speakers: Mathijs Goderis, First Alderman of the City of Bruges, and Adrian Craciun, Coordinator of the Constanța Metropolitan Area Association.
2) Advancing Inclusive and Climate-Neutral Neighbourhoods: Energy Justice, Public Space and the New European Bauhaus
When: Friday 20 March 2026, 15:00 - 16:00
Moderation: Annemie Wyckmans, Re-Value project Coordinator and Prof. at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU)
