In Ålesund, the first sale of a lot in the Sørsida area has been realised, marking an important first step in the future of the area, in which social, environmental and a wide range of urban planning and design factors are being put front and centre in a development using active land ownership as an asset.

The land was owned by Sørsida Utvikling, a Re-Value partner and a development company set up and owned by Ålesund Municipality to support the transformation of the area, and sold to a partnership between the municipality and the regional County.

The partnership will turn the specific plot into a cultural centre for Ålesund and local planning includes a new school, setting up new premises for Teatret Vårt (also a Re-Value Partner) as well as a library and a cultural school.
