Industrial Heritage Case Studies
Over 45 Re-Value project partners - mostly practitioners from Re-Value Cities - met in Rijeka, Croatia, on 29-30 October 2024, for a Re-Value Capacity Development and Exchange Programme Study Visit. During the two-day visit, participants explored Rijeka’s waterfront and waterways and attended presentations by local stakeholders to learn about its rich industrial heritage and how the city is transforming itself for the future.
A poster exhibition was organised as part of the agenda to highlight case studies on waterfront regeneration, with a focus on integrating industrial heritage. A total of nine case studies were presented by seven of the Re-Value cities and their local partners. These cases served as the foundation for discussions among partners, aimed at identifying best practices that could be applied in Rijeka. This exchange offered a valuable opportunity for collective reflection, drawing on insights from the case studies, site visits, and stakeholder presentations.
